Birth of Peace.....

Birth of Peace …….

The whole earth is filled with divine fragrance by the birth of Jesus and it was the outward expression of the Peace, came down from heaven to earth, through Jesus Christ. Celebration of Christmas is welcoming this peace revealed through Jesus Christ. Becoming the agents of peace is the biggest responsibility of today’s Church and it should be affirmed again and again.

Birth of Peace and God’s Anger  Birth of peace explicitly describes God’s anger against all kinds of conquests, divisions and discriminations which destroyed the very purpose (peaceful coexistence) of creation. Penetration of the sinfulness destroyed the peace and thereby the life on this earth became chaotic and miserable. God took human form to proclaim JUBILEE YEAR in this context. In Jubilee Year God’s justice and peace is embedded.

Peace: A Present Reality  Peace which we are talking about is a present reality and it is the realisation of the new heaven and earth. If it is a reality today the realisation of the peace can be possible by two ways. One, the present rulers should return to God and they should submit themselves for the will of God. Two, if they are not ready to obey God, peace will be realised only establishing God's will in their reign. We have seen this in the life, ministry, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus.   Fragrance of Peace will be a living reality only when the present chaotic life gives way to harmonious living, for that SHALOM came to this world.

Birth of Peace should be read, analysed and understood with other three themes, viz; light, life, truth, and grace (St. John 1; 4, 14).

Live and walk in the light of the Lord (St. John 1: 9, 14b). God decided to dwell with this creation and lives with us with full of light. To experience the joy of the Birth of Peace it is inevitable to be immersed in the light and thereby we walk in the glory of God. Choosing the side of the light is a deliberate move which we should take, it is a choice.

Choose Life (St. John 1:4). Peace is the expression of life. Absence of peace is death. Death is abolished through the birth of peace and life is affirmed.

Grow in Truth. Light expels darkness and thereby we know the truth and truth will set us free. Lie is the starting point of miscommunication. Truth will re-establish the communication and we will grow in true wisdom

Live and walk in the grace of God (St. John 1:14, 16). When we choose life, walk in the light of the Lord, grow in truth, we will be filled with grace of God and we will be channel of grace.

Let us welcome the BIRTH OF PEACE …………
